The International Federation of Elite Sports (FIESSA) is an independent global organization dedicated to recognizing, honoring, and promoting elite athletes and outstanding individuals in the world of sports. FIESSA’s governance and organizational structure are designed to ensure transparency, ethics, fairness, and excellence in all of its activities.

General Assembly:
The General Assembly serves as FIESSA’s supreme decision-making body and consists of representatives from member federations. Its primary responsibilities include approving policies, electing the President and Board members, and ratifying the federation’s budget and strategic plans.

Board of Directors:
The Board of Directors is responsible for executing the policies and decisions of the General Assembly. Composed of the President, Vice Presidents, and senior directors, the Board manages FIESSA’s overall strategy and oversees the work of specialized committees.

Committees:
To uphold the highest standards of governance and support elite sports, FIESSA has established the following specialized committees:

  • Ethics & Governance Committee: Ensures adherence to ethical principles and transparency across all activities and monitors conflicts of interest.

  • Development & Education Committee: Designs and implements programs to empower elite athletes, coaches, and referees worldwide.

  • Awards & Recognition Committee: Evaluates and manages FIESSA’s award programs, recognizing excellence without hosting competitions.

  • Media & Communications Committee: Oversees public relations, digital communications, and media engagement.

  • Finance & Resources Committee: Supervises budgeting, financial management, and sponsorship with the highest level of transparency.

Regional Committees:
Regional committees, representing Asia, Africa, Europe, the Americas, and Oceania, coordinate local initiatives and support elite athletes, ensuring FIESSA’s programs are effectively implemented across all continents.
