The International Federation of Sports Elites (FIESSA) has launched a comprehensive program to provide extensive travel and accommodation support for Olympic champions. This initiative is designed to facilitate elite athletes’ participation in international events while enhancing the quality of their cultural and welfare experiences.
Under this program, Olympic champions will benefit from complimentary or significantly discounted airline tickets and hotel accommodations within FIESSA’s network of partner countries. Additionally, financial assistance will be provided to cover ancillary travel expenses such as local transportation, meals, and visa fees.
A key feature of the program is the organized access to cultural venues, including museums and zoos, which have been incorporated into official checklists aimed at enriching the athletes’ cultural experiences during their travels. These checklists have been developed in collaboration with partner countries including France, Germany, Japan, Canada, Australia, and Brazil. These nations have committed to facilitating streamlined visa processes, offering discounted entry to cultural sites, and prioritizing accommodations for FIESSA athletes.
Helen Doe, Secretary-General of FIESSA, commented on the program:
“This initiative reflects our commitment to supporting Olympic champions holistically—beyond their athletic achievements—by fostering their personal growth and mental well-being. By alleviating travel-related concerns and providing valuable cultural opportunities, we aim to empower athletes to excel at the highest levels on the global stage.”
This comprehensive support system is expected to significantly enhance athletes’ physical and mental preparedness for international competitions, further reinforcing FIESSA’s dedication to nurturing and developing elite sporting talent worldwide.
